On Love

An exploration into the evolution of love and how it has become worshiped as the most powerful, complex and misunderstood emotion of the 21st century.

Today, we use “love” to describe our feelings about anything from our family to a new haircut. It is a word which holds a thousand meanings within it, and to challenge its definition leads down a rabbit hole of religion and philosophy, chaos and self-discovery. Similar to love’s varied meanings among people today, its form and practice has undergone drastic changes over the centuries.

We will explore love’s evolution across the centuries through the minds of its most prominent advocates and critics, from Plato to (someone modern) to the Bible. Through dissecting our ideas of love, we will gain a greater appreciation for the most intense and ephemeral of human emotions, discovering how these diverse interpretations can benefit our modern lives by returning to the past.
